Power Tumbling in the Olympics

I had a dream last night that I competed in the Olympics. I know, you are probably imagining me tumbling. But no. See Power Tumbling is NOT IN THE OLYMPICS! so in my dream I just showed up and randomly picked a sport that was. What did I pick? Wrestling. Ya. I know. So I signed up and was waiting at the door ready to walk in when a lady told me that I had to wrestle in another room first. She led me to the room with no spectators and I was so mad! There was a guy there and he told me I could wrestle someone. Lets call him Killer. Killer was a HUGE man who smoked and was super physically fit. I am a little 4'9" girl. I was scared! So we wrestled and AFTER he pinned me he grabbed my foot and broke my ankle with his bare hands. I vowed never to wrestle again. I also vowed to do my part to GET POWER TUMBLING IN THE OLYMPICS! So here I am.

Dear I.O.C.,
People everywhere would love it if you would put Power Tumbling in the Olympics! So please consider it.
Sincerely, Whitney along with thousands of other people.

Coach Ashlie

This post goes out to a great coach.

This coach has pushed me hard, and never let me take the easy way out.

This coach taught me that I will fix it, and I will never go back.

This coach taught me that great success doesn't aways involve tumbling.

This coach left on her mission today.

ASHLIE! I love you so much! You have been one of the greatest coaches that I have ever had. You have pushed me harder, and gotten me further. You helped me get over fears, and helped me overcome obsticles. You have fixed my bad habbits, and taught me new skills. You have taught me to work hard. You have taught me that it doesn't matter if it felt funny, you go for it! You taught me to pray before I compete. You taught me to trust. You taught me that sometimes the most success we will have in our lives, doesn't involve tumbling. We love you so much Ashlie. We believe you will make a great missionary. 18 months will fly bye. We will be right here waiting for you when you get back with a few new tricks to show you. Your testimony has strengthened mine. We will always have your voice playing in our heads as we tumble. Good luck! We are praying for you! Love you!

I'm ready, I'm pumped!

I know I have neglected this blog due to my love for my other blog, but lately I have had an itch to bring this blog back to life. I've had an itch to re-visit some old gymnastics videos from a few years ago and remember why I am so committed to what I do. This awakening has come mostly from meeting my Olympic Idols {click HERE and HERE}

So as far as my tumbling life goes, I have a new coach. My old coach is going on an LDS mission! {click HERE for more information} I am super excited for her, but am going to miss her a lot. She pushed me really hard, and got me really far this year, and I am worried I won't progress as fast without her. But I do really love the our new coach, so I hope that I will stay motivated, and that I will push myself harder than ever before, and that I will go far this year.

I have a feeling that this year is going to be my year. That this year will be different. That this year I will excel further, and fly higher than I ever have before.

So with that I want to come back to this blog. To document it all. My thoughts, my emotions, and my dream for this sport that I love so much.

I'm ready, I'm pumped! So bring it on 2012 because I'm ready!

I'm gonna make this place your home

A little girl once sat on her living room floor, mezmorized by the flipping gymnasts on the screen. She watched them soar through the air, and land perfectly on a mat while the croud erupted in screems and cheers for the gymnasts. She dreamed of one day meeting these gymnasts. See, this little girl was not like the other girls, while others sit on pinterest fangirling about One Direction, and Justin Bieber, She spent long hours in the gym, and always had her nose barried in USA Gymnastics magazines. Some of the other girls had their walls plastered with pictures of their favorite actors, or their favorite singers, but she had her walls plastered with posters of her favorite gymnasts. She wondered what she would say to them if she got the chance.

This little girl became one of the "big dogs" at her local gym. She worked hard. When ever she would start to lose sight of her goals she would watch the recaps of her favorite Olympic moments, and remember the joy she felt when she made her first National Championships, because to her, a National Championships was her Olympic Games. She watched the recaps of her favorite athletes, and their greatest moments. She dreamed of meeting them.

This little girl turned 16. For her 16th birthday she asked for tickets to the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Championships. She wanted nothing else. The show would be held at the Maverik Center on September 27th 2012. She expected to go with just her parents. She expected to sit far away. But she didn't care. She just wanted to go.

One day she got her tickets...and then some more came from her dads work... and then some MORE came from her aunts work. She counted the stack of tickets in her hand. She counted again, certain that she had made a mistake. She hadn't. 21. 21 tickets to the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Championships.

She invited all her closest friends. She invited her family, she invited her favorite team mate. She picked her seats.

She sat on row 11, close enough to see the faces of the athletes.

The grand day came. At the moment she saw the arena she started to squeal with her team mate. She joined the rest of her friends that rode in the other car, and together they entered the arena. They got signatures from her favorite colledge gymnastics team. They went to see what was upstairs. A lady approached her. A lady she did not recognize. The lady told the girls father that she had one extra meet and greet pass. One extra pass that she wouldn't be using. The lady asked them if they wanted it. The girl stood in shock. She was going to meet her idols! She started jumping up and down. She started squealing. The lady handed her the red wrist band and left. This lady never will know the joy this little girl felt that day.

The group split up to go sit in their seats. The girl and her favorite team mate headed down to row 11, seats 18 and 19.

They took pictures of the arena. They cried when they heard the audio from some of the greatest Olympic moments. They cried when their favorite gymnasts came out. They cried when they heard the song Home. They watched the greatest performance they had ever seen. They took lots of pictures. When it was announced that the show was over the girls stomach flipped. She was about to meet her biggest idols.

The found the girls parents and she took the camera. She said she would meet them in the front soon. She left all by herself. She joined the mob of people with red wrist bands. She bought a program. She waited. She walked into the room. The view of her favorite athletes blocked by a line of people, and a big meet and greet sign. But she knew she was now standing in the same room as the last two Olympic all around gold medalists. She saw her favorite athletes. She talked to them. They said happy birthday to her, she tried not to cry. This moment was a dream come true.

She walked out of the arena and hugged her team mate. She showed the signatures to all her friends. She got floated the whole way home, while playing the song Home by Phillip Phillips on her iPod. This song will never play the same in her mind.

gym update

Wow Its hard to keep up more than one blog at a time. I can't believe its almost the end of September and I haven't posted at all this month! whops!

So, what to post about???

Going 8 again on floor this year, going 8 on double mini, and going 7 on trampoline (I missed my mobility score by .2 of a point!)

I am competing level 8 with the highest DD allowed. I am not sure what I will do for double mini passes this year yet.

As far as team mates and coaches there have been some changes as of late. Some team mates have moved, or quit. I miss them a lot. One of my coaches is leaving on an LDS mission in about a week, and won't be back for the next18 months. Our new coach, Jake, will take her spot. Jake is awesome and we have already learned a lot from him. We will all miss Ashlie, and can't wait for the next 18 months to be over.

We have bumped it up a few notches in the gym in order to be ready for comp season comes January. We are working hard, but having fun.

Summer Tumbling

Photo: 󾬔team󾬖 http://instagr.am/p/O8KX2HB4VE/
These people are my favorite!

Remember how I said I wouldn't forget this blog when I got my new one?(www.feelmysunlight.blogspot.com)

Well, I haven't been the best. I have posted lots on my other blog though!

So I thought I'd do a quick post on my tumbling this Summer, since my summer ends next week.

I've blogged about Nationals, and I've blogged about the Olympics, so here is an update on what has happened recently and what is to come with my workouts.

We had our Nationals team sleepover. That was a blast! We ran around the gym and wacked eachother with foam sticks, played tag, and laughed a lot. We discussed leotards, and fundraisers for next year. Around 1 am we tried to put in Stick It. The projector wouldn't work so we propped Jills laptop up on some mats and gathered around it. It was hard to hear, but we didn't mind much, because most of us have the entire thing memorized. We got to sleep around 4 am. It was a blast, and I can't wait for next years sleepover.

My workouts have been fantastic these last couple of weeks. Hard work pays off. We have been working our butts off. We have realy amped up our workouts recently. Our team is closer than ever and the atmousphere at the gym is just fantastc. I'm hitting new things constantly, and so are my team mates. By the time comp season gets here Flipside is going to be rock solid.

There are some changes happening in the gym that I thought I'd share.

My coach, Ashlie, is going on a mission next month. We are so excited for her, but we will miss her greatly! We have a new coach, Jake, who is going to take Ashlie's spot while she is gone for the next 18 months. I'm so excited to have Jake as a coach. He is doing great and he is realy fun. My Team mate B is moving next week and it will be realy sad to see her go. She has been a great friend. There are some other changes happening in the gym such as new passes, and times of workouts. Tumbling is going great. I can't wait for this new season to start in January.

It is my coach Jill's birthday today! She turned 40 and yesterday we decked out the gym in streamers, posters, and balloons. That was fun. Jill has been my coach since I was about 11. I was on her first comp team ever. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JILL!

Randomness!

I feel like I've neglected this wonderful blog. Probably because I've been obsessed with my new blog (to see it CLICK HERE!!!)

So I just thought I'd pop in and let you all know that I AM still tumbling. And its going GREAT! We are working through these new skills for the new passes, and its going alright. It is taking some time, but I will get there.

GUESS WHAT! I start coaching again tomorrow (I took a break for the summer) AND we get to have our Nationals team sleepover at the gym tomorrow! how fun! We are going to watch Stick It on the wall!!! I'm super duper excited!

So, The Olympics ended yesterday. I'm sad their over, and we have to wait an entire 4 years! The Olympics this year where FANTASTIC! Me and my uncle mad a deal that if in 4 years neither of us our married we will go to Rio to watch them! Ha we will see if this actually happens, but don't you think that would be AWESOME! I do!

I promise I will try and post on here more!

London Olympics 2012- Womens Gymnastics Prelims

*Spoiler Alert*

So with the time change from London to here they don't air the Olympic events live. They air them during prime time several hours after they happen. Facebook however, posts things like results and pictures as they happen. There was a warning before the gymnastics events started on Facebook saying that if you didn't want to know results as they happen you should unlike the page, then re like it after the Olympics. I was not smart enough to heed this warning. I got on Facebook this morning and at the very top of the page it had results. And those results where shocking results.

Women

Team
The USA is in 1st with a score of 181.863, Russia in 2nd with a score of 180.429, China in 3rd with a score of 176.637, and Romania in 4th with a score of 176.264

(mens & womens both in 1st after prelims for team competition! Go team USA)

U.S. women individual finals
AA- Raisman and Douglas will compete in finals Raisman is in 2nd, and Douglas is in 3rd

{now this is where I was shocked! Jorden Wieber was the favorite to win gold. She was the "it girl" She has won every recent competition in the US and scored above Gabrielle Douglas, and Alexandra Raisman in every competition leading up to the Olympics. Including Olympic trials! Before prelims we all thought that Wieber and Douglas would be the two to compete. Wieber is in 4th after prelims, and because there is a rule where only the top 2 from each country may compete in finals, Wieber misses her chance at All around gold. I'm super sad for her, but super excited for Raisman, because nobody thought she was going to have this chance. Good luck girls!}

Here are the U.S. individual event finals (finish in qualifications):

VT- Maroney (1st)
UB- Douglas (6th)
BB- Douglas (3rd), Raisman (5th)
FX- Raisman (1st), Wieber (6th)

So there's a different outcome than we all expected. I can't wait to see how the rest of the competition turns out!

Olympic party & a cake!

Look what I made!!

Like my apron?? I made it myself!
Red, White & Blue inside!
Olympic Cake!

Hey friends! Who watched the Olympic opening ceramonies?!? I DID!! We had a viewing party with my extended family. I also made this fantastic cake! (I know what your thinking...I should deafinatly be on Food Network.....right?) It was fun! As you all know from my last post, I'm obsessed with the Olympics. The opening ceramonies where fantastic this year and I can't wait for these competitions to begin. The Olympics always bring a sence of National pride. The Olympics bing the world together for a few moments. We put international differences aside and start fighting for the same thing. I'm so proud of team USA and I wish them all the best in every event they are competing in. I'm so excited to watch the gymnasts compete for our country. I'm so happy with our team this year and I hope we go far. I <3 The Olympics!

Home again, home again... National Championships 2012~ Long Beach, California

Hey guys! I just got back from a long 10 days in Long Beach, California for the U.S. Junior Olympic National Championships! It was so much fun! I finished 4th in my flight and 24th place overall. I hit good passes but I had a low full on my 2nd pass. I was happy with it but wished I could have placed a little higher overall, but hey! it was better than last year! Thanks to my fantastic coaches and team mates, as well as my friends, family, and my EFY company! Your support is fantastic. You guys are the best and I couldn't have made it without you! I may not have placed the highest but I promise you I had the LOUDEST fan club out of all my competitors. I had my own little cheerleaders screaming my name when I went to warm up and compete. haha I love you Miki, ED, and Anedy! Long Beach was a blast! I went to Disney Land AND Six Flags and managed NOT to get sunburned! (Most of my family is fried) I got to do baptisms for the dead at the New Port Beach Temple with B and some of my family, and some of my coaches family. I went to the aquarium and touched sharks. And I did tons of other stuff! I have the greatest team and we have so much fun! haha we know how to have a good time. I will post pictures soon on my "Team Flipside" page so make sure to check them out!

Elite Gymnastics. Courage Is.

'LB*12'

Watching Visa Championships recently has gotten me STOCKED for this next little bit. The next few months are jam-packed with my favorite thing in the entire world! But in order to get there I still have a little bit of work to do. National Championships is in just 24 days. It is so close and I am so ready. We just got the schedule yesterday and it just hit me how soon it is. I am so excited! Between EFY and Youth Conference (both are several day long church activities) all I have to do is stay healthy, perfect my passes, and stay inspired. Watching all the YouTube videos, Olympic commercials, and Visa Championships has inspired me to push harder to try to make it as far as I can in this crazy journey to Long Beach, California. My passes are better than ever. I have been exercising like crazy and I completely cut out junk food. Long Beach, you had better watch out, because here I come!

After Nationals I get to watch my favorite thing that comes on TV every year, the Olympic Games. I was sad to hear of Shawn Johnson's retirement from gymnastics. She will always be my favorite gymnast and a huge inspiration to me. I frequently watch replays of her Olympic moment on beam in 2008. I will always cheer for her weather she is on the floor competing, or anywhere else she decides to be. We love you Shawn! And we will miss watching you compete. There are some amazing new gymnasts quickly rising to the top. I wish every gymnast out there all the best in these next couple of months, weather you are at the elite level competing at finals at Visa Championships Tomorrow and competing for your spot in London, or you are tumbler getting in preparation for Nationals next month. This is the time when we get to come together as one and compete for our favorite titles. Go big and show it off!

I’d just like to say thanks to my friends and family for supporting me, and my Utah competitors that I have gotten to  know really well over the past month, but mostly I’d like to thank my gym family. I have the best coaches in the world and a team that really works like a family. You are the best team a person could ask for! So let’s go get it! gO fLiPsIdE!!! ‘LB*12’

I QUALIFIED!!!!

So I Qualified for the US J.O. National Championships! We had State Championships this weekend and here are my results!

Floor- Level 8 age 15+ 13th place with a score of 53.7 (qualified!!)
Double Mini- Level 7 age 15+ 5th place With a score of 58.6
Tramp- Level 7 age 15+ 7th place with a score of 23.1

So not my best on Double mini but it was still pretty good! I got my highest score on Trampoline that I have ever gotten! (even though I didn't place very well). I did great of floor even though my place doesn't reflect it. My coach thinks I should have placed higher (we had about 20 girls in my division) but I qualified and to me that's all that matters! I am so excited for Nationals! YAY!

Team Tshirt Idea {bleach!}

Hey guys! So State meet is in a week and I just thought I'd post a T shirt Idea that my teem did last year and are doing again this year! Its really cheep and super easy and I think they look awesome! So here is what you need
*Plain colored T shirt (use team colors)
*Bleach
*Q-tips
*cardboard
*cold water

Take your T shirt and place a piece of cardboard inside of it so that the bleach doesn't bleed through. Then take you Q-tip and dip it in bleach and use it a paint brush to write on your T shirt. After you are done writing you can splatter it if you want (this makes it so that any drips that you make don't look like mistakes, plus It looks cool!) Your T shirt will start to lighten and continue to lighten until you put it in cold water. Let it soak for a few minutes then wash it and your done!

Me?!? Quit!?! NEVER!!! Quote #172

Hey guys!! Yes, I know I haven't posted much lately...sorry about that. I have been SUPER BUISY with theatre stuff, school stuff, and what not. BUT now I am starting training for State, regionals (hopefully), and NATIONALS!!! Regionals are in Beaverton, Oregon; and nationals are at Long beach, California!!! It's time to get my tumble on!! Only two weeks until State Champs!! And boy do I have work to do! Only 52 days untill summer! (not that I'm counting down or anything...) I'm super stoake to finally get out of Jr. High and move on to bigger things. And although this whole theatre thing has been a riot, Its not really what I want to do with my life and I have missed tumbling IMMENSLY! Literally! I have missed so much tumbling for theatre its crazy! So although its been fun, I think I will rejoin my team at the gym. (by the way, I have missed so much tumbling that when I finally came back one of my team mates said that she thought I had quit! Me?!? Quit!?! NEVER!!!) So that was my tumblers lament! I'd like to leave you with quote from our beloved prophet durring conference last week. :)

"Effort is required, but it is effort that you will never, ever forget." -President Monson

english assignment

So I did this assignment for English and I thought I'd share it with you because it's content is a little bit like the content of this blog. So here it is.

When people find out that I "tumble" they imagine me swinging around two bars spaced one higher than the other, and they picture me dancing around on a big square piece of carpet placed on top of springs. They imagine me running at full speed a stationary thing and placing my hands on it and vaulting over. They imagine me doing a little dance on a 4 inch wide block of wood. The truth: I have never stepped foot on one of those 4 inch wide blocks of wood, nor have I ever touched a vault, or done a so called "floor routine", and as s far as bars go, the most I have ever done is swing around my trampoline frame after we have taken it down for the winter. When I say I "tumble", I mean I am a power tumbler. Let me guess, you have no Idea what that entails. Power tumbling consists of 3 events, Floor, Double-mini, and Trampoline. When I say floor I don't mean I do a dance across a square spring floor, I mean I do flips down a long runway made out of fiberglass rods, covered in foam and carpet. I'll show you a video later. You probably have 0 Ideas about what a double mini is. Lets just say it looks like this:
dmt.jpg
You jump on the first angled part, do a trick, then you jump on the second flat part, do a trick off the trampoline and land on mats. It's super fun and I love competing it! When you hear the word "trampoline" I'm sure you picture that black bed, round thing sitting in your backyard. The kind of trampoline I bounce on is defiantly NOT the run of the mill, back yard trampoline. The kind of trampoline I am talking about is rectangle, and stands about 4 feet high. It costs thousands of dollars, and can send you up to 30 feet high. (I don't jump quite that high, with fear that on my descent to earth, I would miss the trampoline.) It is extremely powerful and lets just say, I wish I could have one of these in my back yard! Now you might have an Idea about what power tumbling is, but I can assure you, you have never seen anything like this before. Now I would ask you if you want to see what power tumbling is really about, watch this video. This is Kalon Ludvigston, from Idaho. Watch this and it will blow your little mind. I promise you, you WILL NOT regret it!

Shocked right? I know it is pretty amazing! That amazing guy that you just watch flip through the air like a barbie tossed in the air, and land on his feet is Kalon Ludvigston. He is the world champion from Idaho. I get to see him do that every month at my meets. I have gone to a few camps that he has done and he knows my name. Pretty cool right?! Now as you can see Power tumbling, and gymnastics are NOT the same, even though they are both run by USAG. I might be bias to power tumbling because, well I'm a power tumbler. But in my opinion, even though I LOVE watching gymnastics, power tumbling is way better!

Hello world! {I'm back!}

So I know I haven't posted since last month! ops! I have been SUPER BUSY lately and have not had much spare time. But I'm back now and I am going to try to post as much as possible during this exciting competition season. Starting with a recap of my tumbling competition on March 17th.

Kalon Ludvigston Invitational March 17th 2012
So on Floor I finally landed my full in competition! yahoo! I placed 6th and was really happy with a score of 52.70. Now I just need to get that score up to a 53.20 so I can go to nationals. On double mini I took 2nd! I was super happy with this! I scored a 57.50. I need a 58.10 to mobilize so hopefully I can get that soon. And then on tramp I did one of the best passes I have ever competed and I actually finished the pass this time! (unlike my last two meets) I took third place with a score of 22.00. It was a good meet and I was happy with it. :D

Determined

Hey everyone! Sorry I don't post very often anymore I am super buisy! This Saturday my gym is hosting a tumbling competition!! That means I have to stay all day long. but that's okay I love meets! So I have gotten a nasty cold and have been drinking orange juice like crazy! When I'm sick it usually affects my tumbling. But yesterday I went to the gym super determined. Super determined that I wouldn't let it touch me. I was super determined that I would hit 2nd pass so that I was ready for Saturday. And I did just that! Did some of the best passes I have ever done in my life!!! I'm so stoked for Saturday now! I'm competing
Whip whip 4 tuck shoot out
Whip whip 4 full
Then I went to double mini and it is going pretty good! Then I went to tramp.... On tramp I did the BEST pass I have ever done and I am finially doing my whole pass! But then...I landed on my head. It was on the tramp and it wasnt too bad but still it's my head. I got up and did another great pass just so I wouldnt be freaked out on Saturday. But still today my neck is kinked :/ So with my nasty cold that I probubly got from being so buisy and having a lack of sleep, and my sore neck my mom told me I should stay home from school and rest :) ya I know weird right! My mom was convincing me to stay home! Haha so I'm at home and hopefully it helps! So excited for saturday!!
Go FlIpSiDe!!

Quote #171

"know, first, who you are; and adorn yourself accordingly."
-Epictetus

I'm a tumbler so I adorn yourself with leotards and sometimes medals. But if your a lawyer or a school teacher, please don't put on a leotard! :)

January 21st meet recap 999

So here's how the day went.
8:30- Double Mini
I did pretty good passes. Not me best but they weren't bad. Landing was okay (the landing mat was really hard and that made it really hard to stick it). My group was all really good and I took 9th not the best place but I still had a really high score and scores were really close so I consider this good.

1:00-Trampoline
Well...When you have never done the entire pass together before and you aren't ready for that level but you do it anyway you get kinda scared. What makes it worse is the elites were competing on floor at the same time. So it was packed! I have my back to the spectators as I'm standing on the tramp waiting for the judges to call my name. And right before they call my name out the corner of my eye I see Kalon Ludvingston {LOOK HIM UP OM YOUTUBE!} do an amazing pass! and I hear screams and cheers erupt behind me. And this thought pops into my head "OH NO! I'M NOT READY AND KALON JUST WENT SO NOW EVERY BODY IN THE ENTIRE GYM IS LOOKING AT ME AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO BECAUSE I'VE NEVER DONE THIS ENTIRE PASS BEFORE AHHHHHHH!.......okay Whitney........calm yourself!!..........It will be fine...." So the judges call my name and I get on the tramp. Now when I get on the tramp I can now see the entire crowd. I lose focus....do a layout.......and........land on my butt on the blue crash pad. epic fail. scored a 1.7 :/ oh joy took 9th place.....out of 9. Oh well, there's always next month and tramp is not really my thing anyway. Floor is

2:30-Floor
So I am prepared for floor but floor came right after tramp. I'm still quite a bit shaken up and my mind is going at a million miles an hour with thoughts that consist of things like "what if  I can't shake off tramp" "what if I do something weird" "what if I fail worse that I did on tramp!" "what if......AHHHHHH!!!" So then I think about Olympic gymnasts. When they make a mistake the just move on. They don't let it affect them. They put it at the very back of their mind and go to the next event. So I decide that is what I have to do. I put tramp as far away from my mind as I can and they call our group. Our group is HUGE! I don't think I have ever been in a bigger group except for at Nationals! I stay somewhat calm. I don't think about tramp. And I try to forget the fact that there are like four million people in my group (well maybe not that many but that's what it felt like). I go into warm ups. I have this new found energy that I haven't had in a very long time. My warm ups BEAUTIFUL! I'm so happy! I talk to my coach and we decided I shouldn't take my third touch because I'm ready and don't want to get tired. So I compete. My first pass is really good. I have slightly bent knees but overall it was good. My second pass is also really good. I go a tiny bit crooked for a second but fix it really fast. So both passes were quite good. Not as good as warm ups but they were good. I take 9th.

see a pattern?
999
the number of the day

fall

So sometimes you fall. Those are the times you show how strong you are. You have to hop back up and salute the judges. Don't cry no matter how bad you want to. Because you are going into your next event and you can't let it affect you. Shake it off and move on.

I haven't posted any YouTube videos in a while and I found this one and just had to share it.

Quote #170 & new years!!

Being New Years day I thought this would be a good quote!

"We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room,
drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched.
Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through
the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for
potential."

-- Ellen Goodman

This year I hope to accomplish many, many things! To start off the year I am picking up an extra day of tumbling. I hope this year brings joy in way of competitions, I'm hoping for another national championships this year that will be held in Long Beach, California! I'm excited to watch the 2012 olympics! I hope to do many things with my church such as youth comference, EFY, 4th year hike, girls camp, and I want to get my young women's medallion! This year will be the year I start high school, get my drivers licence, turn 16, start to date, and hopefully get better grades than I did in 2011. So as I sit here in my basement looking at my Christmas tree I think "were will my life be next time this Christmas tree goes up?" I hope it goes far! I love you all thanks for reading my blog!
