quote #147-157

Okay so lately I've been thinking about what I can better do with my quotes and how I can better personalize this blog. I feel as if I'm taking quotes written by other people and none of it is coming from me so I decided I would comment on each one telling you how I feel about the particular quote and how I interpreter the message given. Thanks for all the loving support!

"No one is in control of your happiness but you; therefore,
you have the power to change anything about yourself or your
life that you want to change."

-- Barbara de Angelis

To me this means we are in control. We may not be in control of our surroundings, the people around us, or the situations we are going through but you are in control of how you react and how you react directly reflects in your happiness. We all need to look at life a little better. Stop and spell the roses from time to time and learn to accept others. This will make your world a better place.

"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."

-- Oscar Wilde
Don't pretend to be something your not. People will like you for who you are not for what someone else is. Let other peoples actions inspire you and learn from other peoples mistakes but be yourself and you will go far.

"Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is
never the result of selfishness."

-- Napoleon Hill

With tumbling I have seen athletes who are hard workers and are always in the gym giving 110% these athletes aren't always the most talented but usually go farther than the ones who walk into the gym with amazing talent but don't know how to work hard. These athletes usually reach a point where something doesn't come easy and they don't know what to do. This is the time where hard work beats talent. And this goes perfectly into the next quote (#150)I got from a team mate of mine.

"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."
--Unknown
Speaks for itself. This is one of my favorite quotes I first heard from one of my team mates. Work hard and you will go far.

"There is but one success -- to be able to spend your life in
your own way."

-- Christopher Morley

My mom has always said "If you ever stop loving the sport you can quit. You don't have to do anything you don't like." At one point I was taking tumbling with my little sister, Danielle, we both joined the comp team and we went to our first competition and I was loving it! But my sister wasn't. Shortly after Danielle was on the trampoline and broke her finger doing a backhandspring and rejoiced because to her that meant she didn't ever have to go back to tumbling again. I love tumbling but I see in other people who are forced to do it by their parents who don't see it as much fun. A couple of months ago I was spotting my other little sister, Mikall, she wasn't cooperating when I told her she had to do it but when my mom told me to make it so that she was the one deciding she wanted to do it it worked so much better. Parents, let your kids decide what they do and don't live your life through them. They will have abetter time and It will be easier for them as well as you.

"You're never too old to become younger."

-- Mae West
Often times in the gym my older team mates say "I'm getting to old for this" but then I see my coach Steph who is in her thirties and has had two kids doing amazing things in the gym and competing against teenagers and winning shows that its not how old you are its how hard you work.

"This art of resting the mind and the power of dismissing from
it all care and worry is probably one of the secrets of energy
in our great men."

-- Captain J. A. Hadfield
Athletes who learn the ability to stay calm and focused during competition generally make less mistakes.

"Attempt easy tasks as if they were difficult, and difficult
as if they were easy; in the one case that confidence may not
fall asleep, in the other that it may not be dismayed."

-- Baltasar Gracian
I love this quote and how it helps you keep your confidence at all times

#155
"To err is human, but when the eraser wears out ahead of the
pencil, you're overdoing it."

-- Josh Jenkins
Learn to be consistant.

#156
"In the business world, the rearview mirror is always clearer
than the windshield."

-- Warren Buffett
as is in the sports world.

#157
"Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously
interested in it."

-- Julia Child
Stay interested and work as hard as you possibly can and to achieve your goals and you will go far and have a good time doing it.
