a brighter corner

This sad little blog has been neglected for over a year. My life, however, has gone on and I have not stopped writing entirely. I have continued my life story on my blog feelmysunlight.blogspot.com

I am still tumbling and enjoying my time as a coach. Someday I may return to this little corner of the internet, but for now I am exploring the realms of Feel my Sunlight and am content with staying there. See, Power Tumbling is just one piece of my life, and this blog only tells that part of the story, my other blog, however, tells the whole story.

I am sad to say this blog probably won't be continued much except for an occasional post here and there, or for the times I am having nostalgic moments and want to travel back through old tumbling thoughts and experiences. As for the future, follow me on Feel my Sunlight. It's a lot brighter there.

I'm back!

Well, I have been slacking haven't I? I post often on my other blog www.feelmysunlight.blogspot.com but I figured I sould continue posting on this lovely blog... wether or not anyone reads it.

So a few weeks ago I sprained my ankle. It has been giving me problems ever sence. Well, just this last weekend I was doing fulls and sprained the same ankle. Again. UGH! I went to the doctor and he said I had a "high" ankle sprain as well as a regular ankle sprain. I took the week off but am going to try to go back next week. This next weekend I am supposed to compete at my 3rd meet of they year, but unfortunatly I don't think I will be ready by then and will have to scratch. In two weeks I will be competing at the Kalon Ludvigson Invitational and am so excited! This is a meet with international compeditors and hopefully I am all healed and ready to rock it by then. Fingers crossed. Did I mention the doctor said no tramps? ya.

I just finished watching American Cup. These new upcoming gymnasts are amazing and I can't wait to see what they bring to the sport over the next four years. Congrats to USA's Jake Dalton and Katelyn Ohashi for taking gold at this event. GO TEAM USA!

"I don't

you have to be
better than everybody else.
I believe you have to be

                     than you
                ever thought
you could be."

Well we had a tumbling comp today. It was a fun long day in Saratoga Springs. I placed 3rd and am happy about it! Congrats to all of my competitors and team mates! You all did super dandy! I just have to say I love my team and I love all of the girls I compete with! We have way more fun than rivals should. Thanks for all the support! Next stop: Logan.

update update update

Hey friends! Remember me? Ya I'm still here and yes I am still tumbling.

At my last meet I placed 4th over all with a score of 53.00. There is room for improvement but hey, it was the first meet so I won't complain!

We have our next meet this weekend and I am so excited!

On another note, I am going off sugar for the next 6 months {with the exception of 4 days a month when I get a treat}. We are doing this just for fun as a way to start eating healthier. I have convinced several people to join me in this challenge... so I am offering the challenge to YOU. What are you going to do to clean up your diet?

This year should be fun! It has already started off on a good note! My coach promised every single one of us that we will have either a 6 pack or an 8 pack by regionals... wish me luck! ha This should be hard, but I can't wait!

I promise to try and post more often.

Love you guys!

coach quotes

"Tumbling is not like other sports where your weaknesses can be overshadowed by the team. Here your weaknesses will be found out very quickly, but are you okay with that and can you commit yourself to: making you better?
Tumbling makes you
face fears you never imagined! After that scary fall or that first time at a new skill, it says a lot about your true character on whether you are determined to go for it.
Tumbling makes you stronger physically, mentally and emotionally, though at times it may feel like your falling apart in one or all those areas.
I feel it is at those times you have to make the choice to take the next step forward. Let me tell you, tumbling will never let you stay in one place for too long. You must be progressing forward, pushing yourself to be better and work harder every training or you'll lose all passion for it!"

p.s. First tumbling meet of the year tomorrow! Good luck everyone!
